Seeking Marriage

When it comes to making marriage decisions, Before a final decision is reached, we always seek guidance from Islamic teachings as well as from Allah. There are other factors to be considered when getting married i.e finances or getting to know the family you are marrying into.

Getting married in Islam is different to a normal western marriage, it is a unification of Allah’s creation between a man and a women and a blessing for all Muslims. The determination it takes for marriage to work is clearly quoted as such: “marriage is half of your deen’

Marriage Contract

Islamic marriages can be seen as not just a legal contract but also one where there is mutual agreement between two parties. According to Islamic law, such contract will have to be negotiated and signed. There are specific conditions which have to be upheld. These will enable it to be recognized by the law. Nikkah is a solemn contract where agreements are binding on both parties based on the primary as well as secondary requirements.

Wedding/Walimah

In order to celebrate the marriage between the couple, public celebrations are organized in the form of wedding. This is also known as Walimah. There are variations from how the celebration is organized, however these celebrations do not have to involve luxury spending though given that the couple are just starting out a new journey.
