Project S.M.I.L.E. is an Islamic Studies program geared toward helping children ages three through 15 develop a strong and lasting moral foundation based on Islamic principles.
The acronym S.M.I.L.E. stands for Studies Made for Islamic Life Enhancement.
Vision: To develop sincere, wholesome, Allah conscious Muslims who are empowered with the knowledge, love and light of Islam and who are dedicated to the propagation of the Islamic way of life as taught by the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS).
Mission: To plant the seed of Islam in the hearts of children. The program is committed to offering a variety of learning opportunities and enjoyable activities to assist in the mental, spiritual, social and physical development of children.
To realize our vision and mission, Project S.M.I.L.E. offers the following activities:
- Memorizing & discussing Quran
- Learning Hadiths [sayings and actions of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS)]
- Teaching Arabic
- Singing Islamic songs
- Creating arts & crafts
- Playing halal games
- Field trips
- Guest speakers
- additional motivating & exciting activities
Project S.M.I.L.E. has been in existence in the Atlanta Muslim Community since 2003 and is presently held at Masjid Al Mu’minun. Classes meet every Sunday from 11:30am to 2:30pm. The program is offered as a community service and all children are welcome to attend.
